Do you want to imagine a better world, and create it?  Are you pragmatic, collaborative, driven, and humble? Then why not join us at Border Crossing UX where we help our clients accelerate their innovation, adoption and growth. We’re currently recruiting for an Executive Assistant and a Junior Designer to join our growing team in Edinburgh.

About the roles

Executive Assistant (Edinburgh)

To assist Esther, our Managing Director. We’re looking for someone with great communication and time management skills who can complete a broad variety of administrative tasks. The successful candidate will need to be efficient, flexible, and able to maintain high quality standards when under pressure.

Update: The application deadline for this role was the 3/12/21. We are no longer accepting applications for this role.

Junior Designer (Edinburgh, Hybrid or Remote)

With a minimum of 2+ years of experience working in an agency. Similar to the above we’re looking for thinkers and problem solvers, not just software or channel-specific specialists. We really need a Junior designer that is keen to adopt a user centred approach to design and willing to collaborate and iterate on their designs based on feedback.

Update: The application deadline for this role was the 3/12/21. We are no longer accepting applications for this role.

Upcoming UX consultancy vacancies

Over the next 6-18 months we’ll also be looking to hire more UX consultants. These roles will be aimed at experienced practitioners who are willing to manage and/or collaborate across a number of projects. In the meantime, if you’re an experienced UX Designer or Consultant, who is seeking a short-term contract, get in touch. As we have a number of upcoming opportunities that could be suited to someone with extensive agency-side or freelancer/contractor experience.

Working at Border Crossing UX

As a lean micro-company that delivers niche, and high-end consultancy services, everyone who works for us need to maintain the highest possible quality standards. That’s not just an empty statement – we really mean it, and have the track-record and outcomes to prove it. Time is our scarcest resource. So for all of these roles the successful candidates will need to be able to accurately estimate how long things will take, and as and when required and is appropriate, clearly communicate any delays or blockers. As given our size we tend to collaborate, contribute, and rely on each other on both client-facing and internal projects. In short, we’re all about performance, measurement, and continuous improvement.

So, if that sounds like a working environment you’d thrive in, and have the necessary experience to fulfil any of the roles detailed above, we’d love to hear from you.
