Border Crossing Media Holdings Limited recognises its responsibility for the environment and that action must be taken to ensure that we protect our World for future generations. As such, we will ensure, as a minimum, compliance with all relevant current and future legislation. Where appropriate, we will also endeavour to be compliant with appropriate codes of practice and are always actively looking for efficiencies and new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and the waste that we produce.

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations within our places of work and with our clients and suppliers.

However, personal responsibility for the successful operation of this policy lies with every member of staff and contractor at Border Crossing Media Holdings Limited, particularly those responsible for office management, travel and waste disposal.

General policy

Border Crossing Media Holdings Limited recognises that we are in the midst of a climate crisis and action must be taken to protect the environment. We believe it is the responsibility of all businesses, organisations and citizens to actively reduce their carbon footprints, reduce the waste they produced, increase biodiversity and protect the World in which we live.

Commitments

We achieve this through our continuous commitment to:

  • Reducing the amount of waste produced onsite and offsite.
  • Recycling and reusing where possible.
  • Reducing our carbon footprint for travel by utilising video conferencing, where possible.
  • When travel is required, we will use public transport and only take flights only when there is no suitable alternative.
  • Monitoring our water use and effluent production.
  • Monitoring the type of waste that we are producing and ensuring it is disposed of responsibly.
  • Reviewing and enforcing our sustainable procurement policy to align with good practice.
  • Where possible, purchasing and using recycled or environmentally friendly products.
  • Where possible encouraging bio-diversity in the spaces that we maintain.
  • Utilising advice and guidance from environmental advisers and regulators to ensure the ongoing conservation of sensitive ecosystems that we are responsible for or use.

The company will foster environmental awareness and understanding in all employees, suppliers, partners and subcontractors. Where practical, the company will provide information and assistance to customers on environmental issues arising from its products and services and mitigate the risk to the environment when creating or improving a product or service.

Improvement will be continuous, and the company will report annually on its progress against its goals and objectives.
