The challenge

NHS GGC have appointed Border Crossing UX to support Sandyford’s in-house team plan, develop, and launch, new websites for:
Sandyford, the specialist sexual health service for the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.
Free Condoms Glasgow, a free service that is available to anyone who lives, works or studies in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.
In addition to migrating the underlying content management system, this project will be used as an opportunity to optimise these websites.
Our approach
- Evaluate the existing websites and identify key challenges to be resolved
- Explore citizen and service centred approaches to information architecture for both websites
- Develop strategic principles and ongoing governance guidelines
- Define revised site maps and content optimisation plans
- Develop on-brand themes and visual languages for each website
- Configure and populate the new content system for each website
- Conduct external stakeholder testing
- Obtain internal stakeholder approval
- Quality assure and deploy the new websites.
This will be achieved through a combination of on-site coaching sessions and ongoing remote consultancy and support.
Closing thoughts
We’re delighted to have won this project, as it’s yet another opportunity to work with the amazing team at Sandyford.

Over the coming months we’ll provide the ongoing support Sandyford needs to extend their digital capabilities, increase the flexibility of their citizen facing digital touch points, and launch the new Sandyford and Free Condoms Glasgow websites.
